ReCap Arch — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 May 2026
Short version. ReCap Arch runs entirely on your iPhone. After a one-time model download, the app does not transmit your screenshots, photos, queries, calendar data, or any other personal information off your device. There is no account. There is no server.
1. Who we are
ReCap Arch ("the app") is published by Bob Van den Audenaerde. Contact: bob.vandenaudenaerde@gmail.com.
2. What the app accesses on your device
- Photos and screenshots. With your permission, ReCap Arch reads images from your photo library so it can index and search them. Images are processed locally and stay on your device.
- Calendar. If you ask the app to add an event extracted from a screenshot, it opens the system event editor so you can confirm and save. The app does not read your existing calendar entries.
- Network — first run only. On first launch, the app downloads the on-device AI model (Google's Gemma 3n, ~3 GB) from Hugging Face. This is a one-time, anonymous download. After that, no further network requests are required for the app's core features to work.
3. What we do not do
- We do not create or require an account.
- We do not operate a backend server. There is nowhere for your data to be sent, because nothing is sent.
- We do not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports, advertising identifiers, or device fingerprints.
- We do not sell, share, or rent your information. There is no information to sell.
4. Data retention
All processing happens in app memory and the app's local sandbox on your device. The downloaded model is cached on-device. You can delete everything ReCap Arch has access to at any time by deleting the app from your iPhone, which removes its sandbox.
5. Third-party services
The only third-party service the app contacts is Hugging Face, and only to download the Gemma 3n model on first launch. Hugging Face's privacy policy governs that single transfer. ReCap Arch itself does not share your data with anyone.
6. Children's privacy
ReCap Arch is rated 4+ on the App Store but is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
7. Your rights
Because ReCap Arch does not transmit or store your personal data on any server we operate, there is no remote record of you to access, correct, or delete. If you have any question about this policy, write to bob.vandenaudenaerde@gmail.com.
8. Changes
If we materially change this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. The previous version will remain available on request.
